Brief introduction about the Outreaches
UYF launched and carried out an Adolescent Girls HIV Awareness Campaign in Busoga Sub Region through a program dubbed the “PROTECT OUR GIRLS, KISOBOKA CAMPAIGN”. The main goal of this Campaign is to contribute to the reduction of new HIV infections among adolescent girls in Busoga region through addressing gender and social cultural norms that expose adolescent girls to the risk of HIV. The campaign also built the capacity of MEN AS THE MAJOR STAKEHOLDERS IN HIV AND TEENAGE PREGNANCY PREVENTION in the communities of Busoga Region
Uganda Youth Forum in partnership with Family Life Network (FLN) organized an Abstinence Pride March under the theme, “Stand Out”. The Focus of this match was to create awareness, encourage and challenge youth to Stand Out as role models of Godly values such as Abstinence and Faithfulness in marriage in the wake of HIV Prevention. The March brought together over 1,000 students from 100 schools in and around Kampala. It started at Parliamentary Gardens to Uganda Manufacturers Association (UMA) Main Exhibition Hall.
